Mum of six, Kate Ball initially started Mini First Aid in 2014 from her kitchen table in Leeds, offering high quality baby & child first aid classes to parents and carers. Demand grew and Kate saw the potential for growth, so she started franchising the business in 2015. In 2021, BBC Dragon’s Den star Sara Davies, also saw the huge potential in Mini First Aid and she came on board as an investor and adviser. Mini First Aid is now a multi-award-winning organisation and has almost 70 franchises nationwide.
Hi, I’m Linda and I’m the very proud owner of Mini First Aid Cardiff and Newport. As a local mum to 4 children, I’ve seen many first aid scenarios with them, including head bumps, cuts, broken bones, choking, asthma attacks and allergic reactions to name but a few. I’m also a qualified nurse and have many years experience of working in the NHS, as both a cardiology nurse, then a district nurse. As well as caring for my patients when they’re at their most vulnerable, there were also ‘first aid’ incidents such as heart attacks, collapses, severe bleeding and CPR that I dealt with. I’m so pleased that I’m still ‘helping to save lives’ by teaching first aid, and empowering people to know what to do in a first aid emergency. You’ll mostly see me teaching at our award winning baby and child first aid classes, and our adult awareness first aid classes. I also teach the occasional Early Years First Aid classes too. I find it amazing and rewarding to know that parents and carers feel reassured after attending my relaxed and informal classes, and that I’ve given them them confidence in knowing what to do, should a first aid situation happen. Hope to see you at a class soon.
Hi, I am Grace and I am a Mum to three children. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and spent lots of time working with children in different settings. My little ones have kept us on our toes with meningitis scares, choking and breathing related incidents and I am so thankful I knew what to do to help, and I love sharing my knowledge and experience with others, so that they can feel confident too. I am so passionate about all of our courses and you’ll mostly find me teaching our kids classes out and about in schools and clubs, and teaching our relaxed and practical qualification courses. We love to give the whole family knowledge and skills to have confidence in first aid situations.
